Enterprise systems implementation and expansion

…guided by strategy and roadmap

About the Client

National Intermodal is a Government Business Enterprise, wholly owned by the Commonwealth of Australia. Once the property manager of a single intermodal precinct, National Intermodal has scaled to become the developer and operator of multiple intermodal terminals across Australia.

BRIEF

Once the property manager of a single intermodal precinct, National Intermodal has scaled to become the developer and operator of multiple intermodal terminals across Australia.

A comprehensive suite of new systems and processes are required to deliver this expanded remit.

CHALLENGE

National Intermodal must shift its highly manual operations which rely on small close-knit teams working in complete cohesion, to a business led, process driven, and technology enabled way of working.

A complete review of business systems, practices, and strategy was required, followed by a large-scale implementation program to configure, implement, and integrate the new systems.

SOLUTION

  • Conduct stakeholder research to understand processes and functional requirements

  • Produce process maps

  • Develop an IT Strategy and Product Strategy

  • Conduct market scan, produce product recommendations and implementation roadmap

  • Support multi-vendor product implementation from requirement definition, through project management, release, UAT, and change management

OUTCOME

  • Together, the IT Strategy and Product Strategy provide clear guidance for future IT investments

  • The implementation roadmap outlines core technology and supporting capabilities required

  • The individual product rollouts are coordinated, considering the outcomes required across all products

  • Stakeholder engagement is high, guiding the configuration and validating functionality through UAT
