App helps citizens manage their identity

Brief

The Department required a feasibility study and design of a mobile and web application to support the verification of identity credentials.

Challenge

Thousands of Australian identities have been compromised in recent years due to cyber-attacks.

Government agencies, private organisations, and citizens require a more secure method of managing their identity credentials.

The Department required a secure, user-friendly mobile and web application which would allow all Australians to better manage their identity credentials.

Solution

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, process mapping, and service design

  • Develop 26 unique personas

  • Gather functional and non-functional requirements

  • Consider security and legislative constraints

  • Develop secure architecture principles and high-level solution design

Outcomes

The feasibility study provided a secure and compliant design which met both business and user needs. It outlined how the app could be accessible for all Australians, while also complying with strict legislative requirements.

The study is the roadmap for the development of an MVP and full implementation currently underway.
