Platform delivers enhanced identity verification
Brief
The Attorney-General’s Department required a new Identity Verification Services (IVS) platform to securely enable governments and the finance, transport, and telco sectors to confirm individual identities using biographic and biometric credentials.
Challenge
The department required a wholesale review of their current services to re-imagine a highly secure, highly resilient platform to orchestrate digital identity verification traffic requests between government and organisations.
This work included upgrades and accreditation of all platform features from OFFICIAL Sensitive to PROTECTED status supported by IRAP certifications.
Solution
Re-imagine, re-platform, modernise, and harden the current disparate legacy solutions to ‘one platform’ in the MS Azure protected cloud
Build capacity to support future workloads, additional use cases, and transaction volumes of more than a million transactions per day
Outcomes
Delivered a highly available, persistent, self-healing, secure, and scalable suite of services which now form a core component of Australia’s National Critical Infrastructure and System of National Significance.
